About the Role:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Lecturer in Criminology to join our team at Queen's University Belfast.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students across our Criminology undergraduate pathways, providing high-quality education and research opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging and effective teaching sessions to students at undergraduate level.
- Develop and implement curriculum materials, assessments, and evaluation methods to ensure student learning outcomes are met.
- Conduct research and publish scholarly articles in reputable journals to maintain expertise and contribute to the field of Criminology.
- Provide academic guidance and support to students, including advising on research projects and career development.
- Participate in departmental and faculty meetings to contribute to the development of academic programs and policies.
Requirements:
- Primary or higher degree in a relevant social science subject.
- PhD or equivalent awarded or due for completion and to be awarded within one year of taking up post.
- Evidence of an ability to disseminate research by publishing and/or presenting at criminology conferences commensurate with stage of career.
- Experience of lecturing and tutoring at University level or equivalent in a relevant social science discipline.
- Evidence of appropriate administrative experience, commensurate with stage of career.
