We are seeking a highly qualified Lecturer (Education) in Criminology to join the Criminology team at Queen's University Belfast.

Criminology at Queen's is renowned for its research and teaching excellence. Students are educated in a dynamic, supportive environment by award-winning teachers who are dedicated to helping them reach their full potential.

Our criminology research focuses on youth justice, policing, victimology, international criminal justice, conflict, alcohol and drug use, trauma, and imprisonment. We apply psychological and sociological approaches to better understand the causes of crime, society's responses to crime, and the consequences of criminal behavior.

The successful candidate will teach students across the criminology undergraduate pathways.

About the Person:

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:

  • Primary or higher degree in a relevant social science subject.
  • PhD or equivalent awarded or due for completion and to be awarded within one year of taking up post.
  • Evidence of an ability to disseminate research by publishing and/or presenting at criminology conferences commensurate with stage of career.
  • Experience of lecturing and tutoring at University level or equivalent in a relevant social science discipline.
  • Evidence of appropriate administrative experience, commensurate with stage of career.

Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
