Position Overview

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) plays a pivotal role in addressing health and social care challenges that impact everyone. We are currently seeking a Marketing Manager and a Partnerships Manager to join our dynamic team within a fast-paced communications setting.

The Behavioural Programmes Unit (BPU) specializes in driving behaviour change through acclaimed initiatives that encourage healthier lifestyles for individuals across all demographics.

This role involves managing high-profile, multi-channel marketing campaigns alongside fostering collaborations with both commercial and public sector partners.

As a Marketing Manager, you will possess proven expertise in executing audience-specific marketing campaigns across diverse channels, including advertising, public relations, social media, and digital platforms.

The Partnerships Manager will play a crucial role in nurturing significant collaborations with various organizations, aiming to create impactful partnerships that promote widespread behaviour change.

Both positions require exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a flexible approach to meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

These roles will contribute to the execution of our campaign strategy for the upcoming period, which includes:

  • Implementing innovative and effective multi-channel marketing campaigns, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery of campaign components, including messaging, creative content, public relations, partnerships, and evaluation.
  • Facilitating partnership marketing efforts by providing resources to partners, enabling them to support our campaigns and enhance public health.
  • Overseeing daily campaign budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners, collaborating with teams across DHSC and the broader health system.
  • Managing relationships with key public sector stakeholders, including local authorities and NGOs.
  • Utilizing various electronic customer relationship management systems and our Campaign Resource Centre for project management.
  • Coordinating with external creative, production, partnership, and media agencies to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of marketing activities.
  • Preparing responses to parliamentary inquiries and general correspondence, ensuring consistency and accuracy.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience in delivering communication campaigns across various channels, including PR, partnerships, and digital media.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong project management capabilities, demonstrating the ability to deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Excellent relationship management skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to build robust working relationships across a diverse network of partners.
  • Experience collaborating with creative, partnership, production, and media agencies.
  • Familiarity with campaign budget management.

Work Environment

Your primary workplace will be determined by your contractual agreement, typically in a hybrid working model. The expectation is to spend a significant portion of your working time in the office to foster collaboration and teamwork.

Occasional travel may be necessary for business purposes, and flexible working arrangements can be discussed with the hiring manager based on individual circumstances.
