Wardell Armstrong LLP, a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy, is seeking a seasoned ecologist to join our team in Newcastle upon Tyne. As a key member of our ecological team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality projects and supporting the growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support project delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Develop and prepare project proposals, showcasing your expertise and skills.
  • Mentor junior staff, sharing your knowledge and experience to foster their growth.
  • Lead protected species surveys, applying your expertise to inform project decisions.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret survey data, providing actionable insights.
  • Design protected species mitigation strategies and prepare mitigation licenses, ensuring compliance.
  • Produce and contribute to complex technical reports, including Ecological Impact Assessments and Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments.
  • Develop project and financial management skills, driving business growth.

Requirements:

  • Four or more years of continuous experience in ecological consultancy.
  • Hold a degree in ecology or a related discipline.
  • Hold, or be eligible for, 'associate member' status, or higher, of CIEEM.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A full UK driving license.
