Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their needs and develop effective treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Implementation and Progression of Treatment: Implement and progress treatment programs to promote physical and functional independence, including instructing patients on functional exercises and assessing and issuing equipment for activities of daily living.
- Communication and Collaboration: Use verbal and non-verbal communication tools effectively with patients and carers, including education, motivation, and empowerment. Monitor and report progress and changes in patients' conditions to ensure safety and achievement of agreed goals.
- Supervision and Training: Supervise less experienced support workers, including appraisal and training, and take a lead role in the induction of new staff. Contribute to the training program in the clinical area.
- Continuing Professional Development: Participate in own continuing professional development to ensure competency and meet clinical governance agendas. Undertake administrative and housekeeping tasks to support the Therapy team.
- Health and Safety: Prepare the clinical area and the patient for safe and effective treatments in a clean environment, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety and Infection Control standards.
- Weekend Working: Participate in the weekend working rota where applicable, following a period of induction, training, and assessment.
- Compliance: Comply with Trust and Departmental policies and procedures, including demonstrating compliance with safeguarding policies and undergoing regular mandatory training.
