About the Role

The Electrical Design Engineer will play a crucial role in the development of electrical design packages for power generation projects, ensuring the successful installation, commissioning, operation, and service of generation-only and Combined Heat & Power Plants.

This position requires a highly motivated individual with a strong background in electrical engineering and power generation, who can translate conceptual designs into functional and contractual specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop electrical design packages for power generation projects, including energy storage, hydrogen, solar, wind, microgrids, gas-powered generation, and CHP plants.
  • Conduct power system studies, including load flows, fault analysis, protection studies, and harmonic assessments.
  • Support the sales stage of projects by providing conceptual design and tender preparation documents.
  • Liaise with mechanical design engineers to identify project requirements and develop detailed designs.
  • Coordinate with CAD draughtsmen to ensure design packages are produced to required timescales and standards.
  • Provide support to project managers during installation, commissioning, and testing phases.
  • Liaise with customers and their representatives as necessary.
  • Participate in HAZOP and risk assessment studies.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality management policies and procedures.
About You

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a strong background in power generation and electrical engineering. The ideal candidate will have a degree in electrical engineering and a minimum of 2 years' experience in a related industry.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of low and medium voltage power trains, control and instrumentation, and good IT skills. Full UK/EU driving license and eligibility to work in the UK are also required.
