Special Needs Teaching Assistant Opportunity

Career Teachers is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Sheffield. This is a full-time position starting in April 2024, with the potential for a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with Special Needs, ensuring their unique needs are met.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to plan and deliver differentiated lessons, accommodating diverse learning styles.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, promoting a sense of belonging among all students.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other staff members to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with Special Needs and SEND in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of various Special Educational Needs and the ability to adapt support strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (desirable but not essential).
