Job Summary

The Pupil Support Assistant will play a vital role in supporting staff in managing students with challenging behaviour, while maintaining high standards and adhering to school routines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the seclusion room, including break and lunch times, to ensure a safe and supportive environment for students.
  • Provide support to students on issues such as behaviour, engagement, and attendance, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Develop effective communication with pupils, staff, and parents to ensure comprehensive pastoral support for all students.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral team to expand support services and meet the needs of students facing barriers to learning.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive school environment, demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment to supporting learning.

Requirements

  • A confident and patient individual with competent behaviour management skills.
  • Previous experience working with young people facing barriers to learning is advantageous.
  • A good sense of humour and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team are essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
