Job Title: Team Leader - Cancer Services

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader to join our Cancer Services team at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day supervision and management of the Multi-Disciplinary Team Co-ordinator (MDTC) / Patient Pathway Coordinator (PPC) team. This will include coordinating the patient journey from referral, through diagnostics, treatment planning, and treatment, highlighting any potential delays in the pathway promptly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor patient progress and ensure accurate data collection on Somerset in accordance with local and national requirements.
  • Provide absence cover for any member of the Patient Pathway Co-ordinator (PPC) or MDTC team as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all cancer targets and processes relating to cancer pathway management.
  • Work closely with the Cancer Analyst to accurately collect data on Somerset Cancer Register for submission upload.
Person Specification:

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • GCSE or equivalent in English or Mathematics.
  • Excellent computer skills (ECDL/ ITQ level 2 or equivalent).
  • Degree level or equivalent experience in a Team Leader role.

Previous experience working in administration/secretarial capacity in NHS or healthcare setting is essential. Experience of using computerised data systems and/or patient tracking systems is also required.
