We are seeking a dedicated Lead Mechanical Engineer to play a crucial role in driving our innovative initiatives and ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership to the mechanical engineering team, focusing on non-infrastructure projects related to water and water recycling.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure project delivery aligns with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Advocate for innovative solutions and the integration of digital technologies to improve project outcomes.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, supporting their professional development within the team.

Role Accountabilities

Engineering Leadership:

  • Regularly report to the Principal Engineer and work closely with project stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Review engineering deliverables for quality, safety, and compliance, providing constructive feedback to junior team members.
  • Contribute to strategies for construction design management and commissioning.
  • Champion sustainability initiatives and explore modular construction options.

Health & Safety:

  • Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Propose alternative solutions to enhance safety compliance and reduce overall costs.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and contribute to lessons learned initiatives.

Transformation:

  • Embrace digital advancements to improve project efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable construction practices.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members to encourage continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Experience

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the water sector.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record of mentoring junior engineers.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
