Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Property Services Group in Birmingham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality MEP engineering solutions on a range of projects across various sectors.

About the Role

As a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will be working on a varied portfolio of frameworks and projects, predominantly UK-based but with some overseas opportunities. You will take the lead and deliver on small projects up to the value of a few million pounds and provide technical support to end users, landlords, management agents, project managers, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting post-occupancy engineering services activities
  • Designing and specifying mechanical systems for buildings
  • Undertaking technical due diligence surveys and reporting
  • Writing technical reports, including feasibility, issue investigation, and condition surveys
  • Assisting with performance specification work, contract administration, and site duties
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders to ensure project delivery
  • Managing projects to avoid technical and commercial risk
Requirements
  • Excellent mechanical design experience and good site knowledge
  • Experience working on projects in existing buildings (refurbishment and fit-out)
  • Ability to write technical reports and communicate effectively with clients
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to work to timescales and deadlines
  • Proven track record in work winning and building successful teams
