The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a highly skilled Shipping Technician to join our team in Cambridge, UK. As a key member of our Samples Dispatch facilities, you will play a crucial role in supporting day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, pack, prepare, and ship R&D samples globally, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and transport regulations.
  • Dispatch goods, ensuring accurate documentation and labelling meets IATA/ADR/IMDG, Health and Safety, CLP (GHS), and customs standards.
  • Supervise materials with special handling, storage, or distribution requirements, such as hazardous shipments and temperature-critical materials.
  • Proactively track shipments and investigate any missing shipments or shipment errors.
  • Creation, maintenance, and updating of relevant documentation in support of service delivery, compliance, and training.
Requirements:
  • High school or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in shipping is desirable, preferably from a warehouse or logistics background.
  • Shipping dangerous goods or scientific materials, and working in line with CLP, GHS, and REACH regulations is preferable.
  • Exposure to stock ordering and warehouse management software.
