About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Innovation Architect to join our Chief Engineer's Asset Intelligence and Innovation team at Severn Trent. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in driving transformative outcomes for our business, customers, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement AI-driven strategies to tackle both immediate and long-term challenges across water and wastewater management, with a focus on the next 2-3 years.
  • Technology Roadmaps: Create and execute comprehensive AI and underpinning technology and data roadmaps that align with Severn Trent's business strategies, demonstrating incremental value delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business stakeholders to synchronize technology roadmaps with strategic planning, enhancing business capability maturity and value realization.
  • Portfolio Development: Define a dynamic innovation portfolio, prioritizing initiatives based on their strategic value and business impact.
  • Innovative Scouting: Lead the discovery and assessment of future trends and emerging technologies that align with Severn Trent's strategic goals, staying ahead of industry trends through market research, networking, and key event participation.
  • Driving Best Practices: Establish and promote best practices for AI/ML development and deployment both internally across the organization and externally across the sector.
  • Relationship Building: Foster robust relationships with stakeholders, academic institutions, government agencies, and industrial partners to drive collaboration and innovation.
  • Thought Leadership: Serve as a thought leader internally and within the sector by articulating complex technical concepts in an accessible manner to diverse audiences, both internally and externally.
  • Engaging Senior Leadership: Present AI/ML strategies and insights to the executive team to inform decision-making.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly experienced professional with a strong background in AI/ML solutions architecture, deep expertise in model development, and the ability to craft and articulate long-term AI/ML strategies that drive innovation and efficiency. You will also have a proven track record of engaging cross-functional teams, mentoring talent, and influencing senior stakeholders to adopt and invest in AI/ML initiatives. Additionally, you will have a strong understanding of water and wastewater utilities, coupled with the ability to align AI strategies with business goals.
