Babcock International Group is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at our Rosyth site. As a Welder, you will play a critical role in supporting the Successor submarine project, manufacturing 22 tactical missile tube assemblies.

The Role

You will be responsible for safely performing welding and welding-related tasks in a production environment. This will include following standard operating procedures, carrying out welding tasks in accordance with essential variables, and visual inspection of completed welds to contract acceptance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate welding plant in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform welding tasks in accordance with essential variables
  • Visual inspection of completed welds to contract acceptance standards
  • Maintain welding plant functionality
  • Carry out daily machine checks and report any faults
  • Continually improve processes where required
  • Safely set up and remove pre-heating equipment
  • Use digital and thermal temperature recording devices
  • Control of welding consumables in production environments

Requirements:

  • Indentured Welder qualification
  • Understanding of weld defects and causes
  • Experience with pulsed MIG or MIG and TIG
