Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual with outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to assume the role of Lead Pharmacy Technician within our Cancer Services department.

This position involves a diverse array of responsibilities, allowing you to manage your own workload while receiving support from a collaborative team.

You will engage daily with patients, their families, and various healthcare professionals, both in person and via telephone.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary role will be to facilitate the smooth daily operations of the Cancer Services pharmacy.

You will ensure that medications are provided safely and promptly to Oncology and Haematology patients.

Additionally, you will carry out administrative tasks within the Cancer Services pharmacy to maintain accurate data collection, record-keeping, filing, and archiving.

Experience Requirements

Essential

  • Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting
  • Ability to organize daily work activities with minimal supervision while confidently escalating issues to senior staff when necessary
  • Experience in providing basic technical service information to pharmacy personnel and service users
  • Proficient in accurate data entry and understanding pharmacy record-keeping standards
  • Familiarity with procedures relevant to your pharmacy area, with on-the-job training and experience equivalent to NVQ3
  • Understanding of various working practices and the ability to adhere to procedures while applying theoretical knowledge regarding medication usage and expiry dates

Desirable

  • NVQ in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
  • Experience supervising other Pharmacy Assistants and Students
  • Experience in following authorized procedures and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Knowledge Requirements
