As a Senior People Partner, you will be pivotal in formulating and implementing our human resources strategy. You will work closely with key stakeholders and the wider HR team to cultivate a positive workplace atmosphere. Your strategic insights will be essential in helping the organization achieve its objectives, enhance customer satisfaction, and foster a diverse and inclusive workforce.

In this position, you will serve as a trusted advisor, developing in-depth business knowledge to effectively coach and support leaders. You will contribute significantly to making One Retail an exceptional workplace, focusing on employee engagement, talent management, succession planning, diversity and inclusion, and driving cultural transformation. You will also apply evidence-based methodologies to tackle the people-related challenges the organization encounters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • People Strategy Development: Collaborate with leadership to understand business objectives and create strategies for attracting, developing, and retaining talent while enhancing employee engagement and overall performance.
  • Strategic Advisory: Provide guidance, coaching, and support to leadership on all strategic people-related issues, offering valuable insights and challenging existing practices.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze HR metrics to deliver actionable insights, influencing people-related initiatives and driving performance enhancements.
  • HR Best Practices: Promote adherence to HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Project Leadership: Design and execute strategic HR projects, ensuring effective implementation, communication, training, and change management.
  • Annual HR Activities: Assist with key HR functions, including salary reviews, talent and succession planning, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Bid Management: Oversee the people-related aspects of bids and presentations, ensuring a strong HR representation in business development efforts.
  • HR Operating Framework: Implement the HR operating model across the organization, promoting consistency and efficiency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and execute opportunities for enhancing HR processes and procedures.
  • Employee Engagement: Facilitate the establishment of an Employee Forum, ensuring that employee feedback is acknowledged and acted upon.
  • Change Leadership: Support and guide leaders through organizational transformations, including design and implementation.
  • Diversity & Inclusion Advocacy: Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion, supporting the EDI strategy and actively engaging with employee representative groups.
  • Transformational Guidance: Provide expert advice on organizational restructures, TUPE, and redundancy, ensuring a focus on cost-effectiveness and efficiency improvements.
  • Employee Relations Support: Assist with complex employee relations matters and Employment Tribunal cases as necessary.
  • Strategic HR Initiatives: Lead selected strategic HR projects, driving meaningful outcomes.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing a people strategy within a People Partnering framework.
  • Proven success as a Strategic Business Partner in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment with a large, distributed workforce.
  • Comprehensive HR generalist experience, encompassing Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Learning and Development, Employment Law, Employee Relations, Policy, and HR Shared Services.
  • Financially savvy, commercially aware, and digitally proficient, with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret management information and data.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
  • Innovative, passionate, forward-thinking, and human-centric approach to HR.
  • Proficient project management skills with a successful track record of delivering enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Committed to continuous professional development, thought leadership, and best practices.
  • Possess or be working towards Level 7 CIPD - MCIPD or demonstrate equivalent skills, knowledge, and behaviors.
