This role is a full-time, permanent opportunity, offering a competitive salary ranging from £23,014 to £30,923 per annum, depending on experience.
We are a distinguished educational institution attracting approximately 2,800 sixth form students annually. Nestled within the picturesque New Forest National Park, we provide a diverse array of courses and outstanding facilities.
Role Overview:
As the Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will play a vital role in maintaining and securing the college's premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safeguarding the premises and assets while promoting security awareness, especially during non-operational hours
- Performing painting and decorating tasks across the campus
- Managing the heating and hot water systems as necessary
- Conducting routine maintenance on heating boilers, water pumps, and other essential equipment
- Regularly inspecting electrical installations and documenting any issues
- Monitoring and reporting meter readings as required
- Addressing emergencies such as leaks, flooding, and other urgent repairs
- Coordinating with emergency services when necessary
- Executing tasks in various areas including general repairs, joinery, plumbing, and minor painting
- Keeping the maintenance helpdesk updated
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- A solid educational background
- Previous experience in general maintenance and repair work, particularly in painting, carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical tasks
- Proficiency with small hand tools
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations
- A valid driving license
- Willingness to work shifts as needed
- Flexibility to work at various college locations when required
