Transport Operations Manager

Our client, a leading chilled food company, is seeking a skilled Transport & Port Operations Manager to join their fast-paced operation. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective coordination of goods from port to depot, while providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of the UK transport plan, maximizing capacity and revenue per load.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with ports, depots, and 3rd party hauliers.
- Oversee the UK rail strategy and supply chain coordination team.
- Identify opportunities to improve the transport function and implement changes.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, H&S, and legal requirements.
Requirements:
- Experience in Transport/Port Operations Management, coordinating FMCG products.
- Strong understanding of road, sea, and rail transportation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- ERP system knowledge, ideally SAP, and ability to manipulate data to drive improvements.
- Educated to Degree level in a Logistics/Supply Chain discipline (advantageous).
