Job Title: Support Worker in SEND Educational Setting

Job Type: Full-Time, Mon to Fri 09:00 - 15:00

About Us:

Randstad are currently working with a leading education provider in the North East who provide exceptional educational experiences to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We seek a compassionate Support Worker to provide individualised support to students with learning disabilities and complex communication needs in an education setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with learning disabilities and complex communication needs.
  • Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure students receive tailored support.
  • Support the development of social skills, independence, and academic abilities in students.
  • Collaborate with professionals to ensure holistic student development and progress.
  • Facilitate a safe and positive learning environment that promotes student well-being.
  • Assist with personal care needs as required, ensuring students receive the support they need.
  • Monitor and document student progress to inform future support strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in education or care.
  • Understanding of SEND best practices and the ability to apply them in a supportive role.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Experience supporting people who are non-verbal communicators and adapting to their individual needs.
