The Finance Support Specialist plays a crucial role in the oversight and execution of accounting functions within the EU Financial Accounts division. This includes tasks such as financial statement preparation, intercompany reconciliations, and inventory assessments. The position contributes to the overall efficiency of the financial accounting team by identifying opportunities for ongoing enhancement and providing insights to facilitate effective problem-solving.

This position is ideal for individuals currently pursuing professional qualifications, as support for studies is included in the benefits package. The role offers a flexible working arrangement, allowing for a hybrid model with three days per week at our European headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage intercompany transactions and ensure comprehensive reconciliation and foreign exchange evaluations for all EU branches. Oversee inventory and fixed asset reconciliations, providing necessary support to the business. Assist in the generation of monthly financial reports for various entities within the organization, adhering to US GAAP standards. Conduct monthly reviews of profit/loss statements and balance sheet analyses. Aid in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, collaborating with auditors to ensure compliance with US reporting requirements. Support the production of statutory accounts as needed. Handle specific tax-related tasks, including corporate tax and VAT matters. Contribute to the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasts, supplying updated information for strategic decision-making by senior management. Generate monthly management reports to assist in operational reviews and planning. Oversee fixed asset management for relevant entities. Ensure compliance with all SOX regulations across the organization. Participate in the development and enhancement of internal control systems. Collaborate with the US Group company. Provide support to the European Financial Accounting Manager and the Finance Team as required. Assist with specific project initiatives. Produce ad hoc reports and analyses as necessary.

What We Are Looking For:

We are eager to connect with candidates who possess the following qualifications and experience:

Currently pursuing qualifications such as AAT, CIMA, or ACCA, or holding a degree with a minimum 2:1 classification (preferred if not part qualified). Candidates with relevant experience will also be considered. Study support is available. Some experience in month-end financial reporting within a multi-departmental organization. Familiarity with the retail sector is advantageous. Proficient in advanced Excel and general Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Oracle Financials is a plus. Understanding of US GAAP is desirable. Strong attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Effective communication abilities. Capacity to work under pressure and deliver results.
