Position: SEN Support Assistant

Location: Tower Hamlets

Working Hours: 8:45 AM - 3:45 PM, Term-time Only

Compensation: Competitive PAYE Salary

Protocol Education is collaborating with a number of mainstream Primary Schools in Tower Hamlets that are in search of dedicated full-time SEN Support Assistants. These professionals will work intimately with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), focusing particularly on those with Autism.

As a vital member of the educational team, you will engage with students on a one-to-one basis, ensuring they receive the tailored support they need to thrive academically and socially.

Our partner institutions are seeking individuals who are passionate, dependable, and eager to contribute positively to the learning environment. Your role will be crucial in helping students achieve their educational goals.

Collaboration with class teachers, the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCO), and external agencies will be essential to maintain a high standard of educational delivery.

While prior experience in supporting SEN students is advantageous, comprehensive training will be provided to suitable candidates.

Key Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of child development principles and effective practices in early childhood education.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for working with young children and a commitment to delivering high-quality educational support.
  • Awareness of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and a collaborative team player.

All quoted salary rates will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the potential for a permanent role in the future.

Protocol Education is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We conduct thorough safeguarding checks on all personnel in line with the Department for Education's statutory guidance. This may include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.

We provide FREE online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training for all our staff. All candidates must undergo or have completed a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
