The Opportunity

Abbott Core Diagnostics is seeking a Bids and Proposals Coordinator to join our team. This position is integral to our Enterprise Accounts division, reporting directly to the Manager of Enterprise Accounts. The primary focus of this role is to leverage extensive expertise in contract management, proposal development, and to compile essential financial and technical data necessary for crafting competitive bids and contracts.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with the Field Sales Team, known as the Enterprise Team, to support their efforts in securing and maintaining business opportunities. Oversee the coordination of both internal and external processes to facilitate the Sales Cycle, Tender process, and the tender award phase in conjunction with the Enterprise Team. Act as a crucial contributor in securing tendered and RFP business by working collaboratively with the Enterprise Team. Assess, evaluate, and assist in delivering complex pathology laboratory solutions across core Blood Sciences and a comprehensive range of pathology services, integrating both Abbott and third-party offerings. Manage all aspects of tender opportunities, from the initial sales cycle through to tender submission and post-award transition, thereby enhancing the sales team's capacity for value-added sales initiatives. Provide thorough training and ongoing support to the Enterprise Team regarding the Tender Process and TenderEyes platform.

Required Qualifications

A degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in a scientific or business-related field.
• Project management certifications are advantageous but not mandatory. Experience in laboratory medicine is preferred, whether from NHS, private laboratories, or the commercial sector. Familiarity with Tenders/RFP/Bid writing and Sales Proposal processes is desirable, along with experience in TenderEyes and SharePoint. Strong communication and leadership abilities. A collaborative team player who takes pride in delivering high-quality projects within tight deadlines. Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

Additional Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the tender process in partnership with the Enterprise Team, including managing the opportunity pipeline. Participate in all necessary external customer engagements alongside the Enterprise Team. Document meeting minutes for distribution to the team and ensure proper storage on the Tender Portal (TenderEyes). Assist with field visits alongside the Enterprise Team to evaluate current third-party solutions as needed. Develop strategic solutions with the Enterprise Team for pan-pathology tenders that incorporate multiple third-party services, ensuring alignment with customer technical, contractual, and financial requirements. Aid the Enterprise Team in managing pre-tender activities and provide sales and technical insights to enhance the likelihood of success in tender/RFP submissions. Identify and pursue all potential opportunities, including frameworks and tenders. Take the lead on tender documentation and project management for a range of opportunities, from small single instrument tenders to large-scale, multi-site pan-pathology tenders, with values ranging from £125K to over £500m as experience and competence allow. Cultivate and manage Abbott's relationships with third-party suppliers to secure optimal bids, including providing training and support for technical responses. Support the Enterprise Team in transitioning successful bids to the Implementation Team, Contracts Team, and Customer Experience Team to ensure seamless execution.
