Overview

Ridge and Partners LLP is seeking a talented and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead project teams within our dynamic MEP department. We offer a supportive environment where you can develop your career, progressing rapidly along either a technical or managerial path.

We are currently involved in a diverse range of projects across various sectors, including science and research, advanced manufacturing, motorsport, education, defense, commercial, and residential.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead MEP engineering teams to deliver a variety of project work.
  • Manage risk within MEP engineering projects, demonstrating a strong understanding of scope/appointments and excellent commercial acumen.
  • Act as the lead engineer in design teams, taking responsibility for electrical building services concept and detailed design.
  • Supervise and monitor the work of others within this function.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Produce reports, drawings, and specifications to meet various RIBA design stages.
  • Utilize specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and BIM (Revit) software, along with other resources, to design the systems required for each project.
  • Collaborate closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors, both within our team and externally.
  • Attend a range of project group and technical meetings.
  • Ensure that the design and maintenance of building systems comply with legislative and health and safety requirements.
Experience and Skills Required
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Ability to cultivate long-term, productive working relationships.
  • Significant experience in an electrical building services design role from either a consultant or contractor background.
  • Possession of an accredited relevant degree or higher educational qualification in a related discipline (HNC/HND).
  • Working towards or having achieved IEng or CEng status.
  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team toward shared goals.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering high standards of client care.
