About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Electrical Design Engineer to join our MEP team at Ridge & Partners LLP. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading MEP engineering teams and delivering a range of project work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead MEP Engineering Teams: You will be responsible for leading MEP engineering teams and delivering a range of project work, including managing risk within MEP engineering projects.
  • Manage MEP Scope and Appointments: You will have good working knowledge of MEP scope and appointments, as well as excellent commercial acumen.
  • Design and Deliver Electrical Building Services: You will act as the lead engineer in a design team, responsible for electrical building services concept and detailed design, supervising and monitoring the work of others in this function.
  • Mentor and Develop Junior Engineers: You will mentor and develop junior engineers, producing reports, drawings, and specifications to suit various RIBA design stages.
  • Utilize CAD and BIM Software: You will use specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design the systems required for the project.
  • Liaise with Professionals: You will liaise closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams.
  • Ensure Compliance: You will ensure that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements.
Requirements
  • Excellent Project Management Skills: You will have excellent project management skills, including the ability to foster long-term productive working relationships.
  • Significant Experience: You will have significant experience within an electrical building services design role from either a consultant or contractor background.
  • Accredited Qualifications: You will have an accredited relevant degree or higher educational qualification in an applicable discipline (HNC/HND) and be working towards IEng or CEng status.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: You will have excellent communication skills and be willing to work as part of a close-knit team towards a shared goal.
  • Attention to Detail: You will have attention to detail and a strong desire to deliver high standards of client care.
