Job Summary

Orion Electrotech is seeking a highly experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead our safety strategy across multiple sites. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of regulatory compliance, implementing safety improvements, and promoting a culture of safety excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Development: Shape and steer the H&S strategy across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Operational Execution: Directly manage day-to-day safety operations, ensuring compliance with all H&S legislation, enhancing our safety systems, and leading our safety team.
  • Change Management: Implement behavioral change and behavioral safety initiatives to drive a culture of safety excellence.
  • Safety Improvement and Implementation Projects: Develop and implement projects to improve safety and reduce risk across our sites.
Requirements
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the highest levels of regulatory compliance for Health, Safety, and Environmental are applied at the sites within your region.
  • Policy Development: Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with H&S legislation.
  • Site Management: Manage 3x sites (Enstone, Cullompton, and Sherburn) to ensure safety excellence.
  • Change Implementation: Implement changes to improve safety and reduce risk across our sites.
  • Best Practices: Lead the adoption of best practices in health and safety standards and initiatives.
  • KPI Development: Develop, record, and report on H&S KPIs, providing insights and action plans.
  • Team Management: Manage the Health & Safety team on a daily basis.
  • Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
  • Management Systems: Maintain and enhance H&S management systems to meet ISO9001, 14001, and OHSAS18001 standards.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents and lead post-incident analysis and improvements.
  • Corrective Actions: Coordinate responses to non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Training and Development: Deliver comprehensive health and safety training across all levels of staff.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Liaise with regulatory bodies, ensuring constructive relationships and compliance.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Manufacturing or Heavy Industry Experience: Must have experience working in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment.
  • COSHH Knowledge: Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
  • ISO Standards: Worked to ISO9001, 14001, and OHSAS18001 standards.
  • NEBOSH Qualification: NEBOSH Qualification to HnD Level.
  • Driving License: Must be a driver and a UK license holder.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Strong influencer with a range of stakeholders with the ability to communicate strategic plans and projects.
  • Riddor Reports: Knowledge of Riddor reports.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Good Practice: Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental good practice and control expectations.
  • Problem-Solving: Flexible and able to manage priorities, resolve problems, and escalate issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Industry Experience: Experience gained in the Food or Agricultural industry.
  • Improvement Processes: Good understanding of improvement processes, tools, and capability-building.
