About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant General Anaesthetist to join our dynamic team at the James Paget University Hospital. As a key member of our anaesthetic department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a comprehensive anaesthetic service to a range of surgical specialties, including general surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, and more.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and cover for annual leave, ensuring continuity of care and maintaining high standards of patient safety.
  • Contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives within the department, driving excellence in patient care and service delivery.
  • Engage in teaching and training activities for post-graduate and undergraduate trainees, sharing your expertise and knowledge to support the development of the next generation of anaesthetists.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities, driving service development and enhancing patient care through innovative approaches and best practices.

Requirements:

  • FRCA or equivalent qualification
  • Full GMC registration
  • Clinical experience in Anaesthesia
  • Ability to provide emergency anaesthesia and obstetric anaesthesia cover
