About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Calor Gas Limited. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safety-first approach in all activities to drive towards an incident-free workplace.
  • Complete low-technical maintenance tasks such as pipework painting, fixtures, fittings, and cleaning conveyor trays.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy site, including site perimeter, grassy areas, and security fencing.
  • Perform site tasks such as scaffolding erection, firewatching for hot work, and accompanying contractors or visitors.
  • Support general labouring duties and deal with issues as they arise.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across site operations.
  • Assist with site equipment tagging and site bin management.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience and/or qualifications in building work, carpentry, painting, and decorating.
  • Engineering background preferred but not essential.
  • Practical experience on industrial sites, preferably high hazardous/COMAH environments.
  • IPAF, PASMA, and Firewatcher trained (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive and safety-conscious mindset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends as required.
