Position Overview: The Department of Engineering is seeking a Cleanroom Technician to support the technician team within the Electrical Engineering Division. This division operates two specialized cleanroom environments.

Key Responsibilities: The Cleanroom Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality of cleanroom equipment. Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and reporting on equipment performance.
  • Assisting with laboratory waste management.
  • Coordinating with users regarding consumable requests and inventory restocking.
  • Collecting samples for analysis from colleagues.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the cleanroom facilities.

Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will possess educational qualifications equivalent to GCSE level 4/NVQ level 2, including Mathematics, English, and a science subject, or have relevant practical experience. A strong interest in the cleanroom environment and a commitment to learning are essential.

Team Collaboration: As part of an established team, effective communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities are vital. Basic IT proficiency is also required. Previous experience in a cleanroom or laboratory setting, along with awareness of health and safety protocols related to electrical systems, machinery, and chemical handling, is advantageous but not mandatory.
