Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Car / Allowance (£5,000) & Benefits
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Transport Operations Manager to oversee the end-to-end operations of our logistics services in the Peterborough region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a small administration and planning team, as well as managing a fleet of 50+ vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a small Administration & Planning team along with c. 50 drivers
- Oversee the subcontract & Haulier relationships across the region - c. 15 vehicles
- Lead all operational H&S, Compliance and Fleet Maintenance agendas across the Transport operation
- Ensure seamless coordination and optimisation of logistics operations from an internal synergy and continuous improvement perspective
- Implement best practices whilst ensuring sufficient usage of the TMS platform
- Provide developmental opportunities within the business
Requirements:
- A Logistics Distribution & Supply Chain Background - Essential
- A CPC National / International qualification, demonstrating your deep understanding of transportation regulations – Essential
- 3+ years Transport management experience within a 3PL / FMCG / Food / Haulage or Retail environment – Essential
- Proven experience in managing 50+ vehicles – Essential
- Sub-contract management experience - Highly Advantageous
- A true passion for people development, providing excellent service and continuous improvement - Advantageous
- Strong leadership skills and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence - Essential
- Commutable to the Peterborough region each day - Essential
