Transport Operations Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Operator to join our team in Peterborough. As a key member of our transport team, you will be responsible for monitoring the day-to-day transport operations, ensuring our fleet is safe and legal, and managing driver performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage transport operations to ensure efficient and safe delivery of goods
- Manage vehicle and driver compliance to ensure regulatory requirements are met
- Develop and implement strategies to improve driver performance and reduce costs
- Liaise with Lineage Logistics depots and delivery points to ensure smooth operations
- Assign drivers and vehicles using transport planning systems
- Manage delivery rejections, temperature control, and product damage
- Generate goods return notifications and manage stock allocation
- Manage vehicle and trailer breakdowns, and ensure timely repairs
- Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty
Requirements:
- Previous experience in transport operations or a related field
- Strong knowledge of transport management systems and regulations
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
