Transport Operations Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Transport Operator to join our team in Peterborough. As a key member of our transport team, you will be responsible for monitoring day-to-day transport operations, ensuring our fleet is safe and legal, and managing driver performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage transport operations to ensure efficient and safe delivery of goods
- Manage vehicle and driver compliance to ensure regulatory requirements are met
- Develop and implement strategies to improve driver performance and reduce costs
- Liaise with Lineage Logistics depots and delivery points to ensure smooth operations
- Assign drivers and vehicles using transport planning systems
- Manage delivery rejections, temperature control, and product damage
- Generate goods return notifications and resolve delivery issues
- Manage vehicle and trailer breakdowns, stock allocation, and UN invoice job reports
- Diary departure management, scanning, indexing, and filing
- Invoicing and status reports, and day-to-day activity management
Requirements:
- Previous transport experience, preferably in a similar role
- Experience in managing drivers' hours and legislation
- Knowledge of transport management systems, or willingness to learn
- Target-focused individual with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Good IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
