Are you experienced in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

A primary educational institution is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Practitioner to assist a Year 1 student with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, as well as Speech and Language difficulties.

This role is crucial in fostering a nurturing educational environment, ensuring that each child receives the tailored support they require to thrive academically and socially.

Role Overview

This is a full-time opportunity commencing in the new academic term.

The ideal candidate will create a calm and supportive atmosphere, quickly establishing a trusting relationship with the student. Collaboration with the Class Teacher is essential to modify activities and monitor progress effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high expectations for student achievement.
  • Demonstrate experience working with children with SEND.
  • Collaborate closely with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo) to assess the child's requirements.
  • Foster a stimulating and engaging learning environment.
  • Provide support tailored to the child's individual needs.
  • Evaluate and communicate the child's progress and achievements.
