Job Description

CPU Hardware Engineer Position

We are currently seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to join our team at European Tech Recruit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CPU architecture and micro-architecture features, with a focus on RISC-V cores.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of a brand new and competitive CPU architecture, and defining interfaces between hardware, firmware, and operating systems for systems based on it.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a wider team of experts, architects, and clients to turn their requirements into reality. The candidate will be responsible for bridging the architectural excellence and user experience.

Key Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Working experience within the software development space, including C programming and knowledge of low-level assembler programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of CPU architecture and micro-architecture features, including caches, MMU, SMP, coherency, and CPU pipelines.
  • Familiarity with the ARM/RISC-V/MIPS architecture and the micro-architecture of current ARM/RISC-V CPU cores.
  • Strong understanding of modeling microprocessors using higher-level languages like C/C++.
  • Prior working experience with one or more of the following technologies: Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX), Scalable Vector Extension (SVE), Scalable Matrix Extension (SME), Confidential Compute Architecture (CCA), Morello/CHERI.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with CPU design and verification tools.
  • Knowledge of low-level system programming and firmware development.
  • Understanding of system-on-chip (SoC) design and development.
