Role Summary
We are in search of a dedicated individual to join our Hope team as a Recovery Specialist. In this role, you will be instrumental in helping individuals reach their recovery objectives through tailored support and resource access.

What is HOPE?
The Hope team at Humankind provides vital support and guidance to individuals grappling with substance use issues. Our compassionate professionals deliver empathetic care, assisting in goal-setting, treatment navigation, and resource acquisition. By nurturing a collaborative relationship, our team empowers individuals to make substantial progress in their recovery journey. Through their dedication and expertise, Recovery Specialists play a crucial role in the success of those in recovery.

Our team serves as the primary contact for adults facing challenges with drugs and alcohol, while also fostering and enhancing community partnerships. We actively engage with individuals to provide ongoing support throughout their treatment journey, encouraging and empowering them towards recovery.

Operating across various community-based facilities, our countywide service focuses on delivering comprehensive assistance to those in need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a varied caseload of clients and assist them in achieving their recovery objectives.
  • Aid service users in accessing resources and services to enhance their recovery experience.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and provide guidance to colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to organizational policies.
  • Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality agreements.
  • Mitigate substance-related harm to individuals and the community.
  • Participate in supervision and reflect on therapeutic relationships.
  • Deliver services in outreach and in-reach capacities.
  • Work flexibly across operational sites, including evenings and weekends.
Candidate Profile
  • Ideal candidates will have experience in substance use or recovery support.
  • Demonstrated compassion, resilience, and strong communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • A valid driving license is essential for this role.
Please note this role involves weekend and evening work, with weekends consisting of one Saturday every three months on a rotational basis.
Each hub has late nights with available toil reimbursement.
