Position Overview

CLIMATE 17 is a progressive consultancy firm dedicated to addressing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) challenges in developing markets. We partner with global financial institutions to navigate complex environments and effectively manage ESG risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement comprehensive ESG frameworks and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Oversee risk management for large-scale projects, including multi-billion-dollar developments.
  • Contribute to innovative projects such as community investment funds and extensive reforestation initiatives.
Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess a strong background in managing ESG risks and identifying opportunities within international projects. This role demands a proactive individual capable of supporting both project execution and business growth.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, biological, biophysical, or social sciences; a postgraduate degree is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience in client-facing roles, effectively communicating technical and project needs.
  • Expertise in biodiversity management, including action plans, monitoring services, and Critical Habitat Assessments.
  • Proficient in conducting Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD), along with report generation.
  • Familiarity with IFC Performance Standards and the Equator Principles, applying these standards to biodiversity projects.
  • Ability to support organizations in formulating biodiversity and nature-positive strategies.
  • Experience working within international and local regulatory frameworks.
  • Collaboration with fellow consultants and junior team members, providing guidance and support.
  • Coordination with contractors and stakeholders to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Management of project budgets and timelines.
