Position Overview

Role Summary

OneAdvanced is in search of a Cloud Financial Analyst to partner with our Financial Operations Lead in optimizing costs and managing finances within AWS and Azure ecosystems, ensuring operational efficiency and fiscal responsibility.

The ideal candidate will engage with multiple departments to execute cost-reduction strategies, uphold financial integrity, and improve transparency regarding cloud spending.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management: Develop and implement strategies such as rightsizing, utilizing reserved and spot instances, and enabling auto-scaling features.
  • Automation & Infrastructure as Code: Leverage tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation; script using CDK, JavaScript, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • Resource Tagging & Compliance: Enforce resource tagging, budgetary controls, and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Cost Management Platform: Oversee cloud expenditures using Harness; ensure integration with AWS and Azure.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Administer budgets, project future spending, and monitor financial outflows.
  • Alerts & Monitoring: Establish notifications for cost irregularities and budget exceedances.
  • Data Reporting & Insights: Create analytical reports, evaluate spending trends, and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with finance, operations, and engineering teams to drive initiatives.
  • Ongoing Development: Continuously refine cost management strategies.
  • Cloud Knowledge: Possess a solid understanding of AWS and Azure services, pricing structures, and billing processes.
  • DevOps Practices: Oversee CI/CD workflows, automate processes, and ensure compliance and security measures are in place.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years in cloud financial oversight.
  • Expertise in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud cost management tools (e.g., CloudHealth, Harness CCM, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management).
  • Strong programming and scripting capabilities (NodeJS, Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell, JavaScript, Java, C#).
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or equivalent certification.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in cloud architecture.
  • Advanced skills in PowerShell and Bash scripting.
  • Knowledge of Harness platform.
  • Experience with New Relic and Agile project management methodologies.
