About the Role

The Electrical Team Leader will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team of skilled and apprentice craftsmen in all aspects of the workplace. The team will be responsible for improving performance and reliability across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of electrical engineers and technicians in the planning and execution of maintenance activities.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of contractors and other services.
  • Deputise for 1st Line engineering management as required.
  • Write and review risk assessments, method statements, and procedures.
  • Ensure business health and safety instructions are followed.
  • Manage the permitting system for the department.
  • Undertake training to learn new skills and use any training given.
  • Respond to breakdowns under own initiative.
  • Deliver business communications to the team.

Requirements

  • A recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship (preferably HNC but minimum ONC level or equivalent).
  • Sound plant engineering knowledge and experience of industrial systems.
  • Self-starting driven individual capable of leading a small team.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional groups.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to methodically fault find any issues to root cause and front-line rectification.
  • Experience of working under permit systems previously or has knowledge of how permit systems operate.
  • A customer-focused attitude with an understanding of prioritisation with current resources.
