Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Export Control Manager to join our client, a leading Aerospace and Defence organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the international programmes within the business, ensuring compliance with export control regulations and licensing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the International Programmes: The Export Control Manager will be responsible for leading the international programmes within the business, understanding key programme deliverables and export licensing requirements.
  • Provide SME Advice: The successful candidate will provide day-to-day SME advice and guidance on export control related queries, regulatory and procedural requirements.
  • Export Control and Licensing Challenges: The Export Control Manager will understand export control and licensing challenges, establish the facts, and put in place solutions that enable timely delivery and protect future business, including implementation and management of Export Control and Licensing Plans.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: The candidate will grow and sustain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting and leading engagements.
  • Corporate/Internal and External Audits: The Export Control Manager will support corporate/internal and external audits, including closure of actions where appropriate.
  • Subject Matter Expert: The successful candidate will be the subject matter expert in leading the knowledge and understanding of key export control regimes and feeding this to the wider business, ensuring compliance with day-to-day business activities.
  • Export Control Processes: The Export Control Manager will develop and implement export control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with export control regulations.
  • Business Support: The candidate will provide support to business teams, ensuring export control requirements are considered and embedded within future IT toolsets, collaboration environments, and enterprise resource planning systems used by the business.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • UK and International Export Control Regulatory Environments: The successful candidate will have experience of working in UK and International Export Control regulatory environments.
  • Analytical Skills: The Export Control Manager will have analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex regulations.
  • Current Knowledge: The candidate will have current knowledge on International Export Control laws and regulations.
  • Team Leading and People Management: The successful candidate will have team leading and people management experience.
