Job Title: LGV Fleet Mechanic

Activus Recruitment is assisting our client, a leading transportation company, to source an experienced LGV Fleet Mechanic to join their team.

Job Purpose:

As an LGV Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for carrying out the safe and efficient repairs and maintenance of LGVs and other fleet vehicles and equipment within workshops and off-site environments.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Vehicle Maintenance: Carry out the safe and efficient servicing, fault diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of LGVs, and other fleet vehicles and equipment within workshops and off-site environments.
  2. Health and Safety: Ensure all works are carried out under the cover of risk/COSHH assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work procedures.
  3. Tool and Equipment Management: Ensure all tools and equipment used for carrying out repairs and maintenance are checked, fit for purpose, and certified where necessary.
  4. Plant and Equipment Maintenance: Prior to using any plant or equipment, ensure a daily check is carried out and the appropriate check sheet is completed.
  5. Reporting and Documentation: Report any plant and equipment defects to the Site Manager/Fleet Manager and ensure job sheets, inspection reports, timesheets, and all other department-related documentation are completed accurately and handed in on time.
  6. Training and Development: Attend meetings and training courses as directed by the Site Manager/Fleet Manager and provide training and guidance to other members of staff as required.
  7. Company Representation: Act as an ambassador for the company, ensuring visitors, customers, and staff are communicated with in a polite and courteous manner.

This is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive salary of £14.50 per hour.
