As a key member of the Enterprise Commercial team, you will lead the Distributed Energy (DE) Major Projects commercial team, focusing on either the Northern or Southern regions of the UK. Reporting directly to the Enterprise Commercial Director, your mission will be to develop and implement a forward-thinking, growth-oriented commercial strategy.

You will provide leadership and guidance to the DE commercial team within a matrix structure, ensuring we maximize the potential of our assets while continuously enhancing the commercial function from pre-contract stages through to asset operation. Your expertise in constructing and negotiating client agreements will be crucial.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading the commercial function and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve the commercial objectives of the Enterprise DE business.
  • Overseeing and contributing to the negotiation of contracts and acquisitions to ensure profitable revenue growth.
  • Assuming overall responsibility for the commercial risks associated with all acquisitions, projects, and supplier contracts.
  • Providing insights into the risk framework of supplier contracts managed by Procurement during the sourcing process.
  • Acting as the commercial lead on any mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the energy markets and relevant third-party stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For:

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • In-depth knowledge of energy markets and regulations.
  • A strong understanding of contracts, including their clauses and interpretations.
  • A degree or master's qualification in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen through a history of relevant positions and familiarity with diverse practices and concepts.
  • Extensive experience and a proven track record in commercial roles.
