Leadership Role in Child Mental Health

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Mental Health Practitioner to take on a leadership role within our CAMHS service. The successful candidate will work specifically with children and young people in care who are placed out of the Wakefield district.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with out-of-area CAMHS services to ensure seamless care for our patients.
- Maintain an overview of young people through the Complex Care Panel to identify and address their needs.
- Consult with and support Independent Fostering Agencies and Supervising Social Workers to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
- Liaise and support with discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition for our patients.
- Support the team in The Croft, a 2-bedded therapeutic children's home, based in Wakefield.
- Offer training and guidance to professionals and foster carers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Excellent record-keeping and report-writing skills, including care planning and risk assessments.
- Calm, confident, innovative, creative, and assertive approach to work.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in accordance with changing service priorities.
- Good self-care and ability to encourage the same in team members.
- Current driving license and access to a car during working hours (reasonable adjustments will be considered for any applicants who are unable to drive due to a disability).
- Substantial post-qualification experience, some of which must be working with children, young people, and their carers in a mental health or other complex care setting.
- Knowledge and experience of working with Equality and Diversity.
- Experience of providing highly specialist advice and supervision to other professionals.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance for working with children, young people, mental health, and safeguarding.
- Evidence of advanced clinical or therapeutic knowledge and skills in mental health.
- Extensive experience in assessment and risk management and ability to implement evidence-based practice.
- Advanced experience of safeguarding children and young people.
- Postgraduate qualification in mental health (e.g., CBT, Family Therapy, Counselling).
