Job Title: Impregnation & Stacking Assembler

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Impregnation & Stacking Assembler to join our team at AMETEK. As an Impregnation & Stacking Assembler, you will be responsible for building mechanical and/or electrical assemblies to technical drawings, SOPs, and CMMs. You will also undertake impregnation and resin insulation of electrical components, upgrade and repair mechanical and/or electrical assemblies, and test assembled products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build mechanical and/or electrical assemblies to technical drawings, SOPs, and CMMs.
  • Undertake impregnation and resin insulation of electrical components.
  • Upgrade and repair mechanical and/or electrical assemblies.
  • Test assembled products.
  • Use basic hand tools and measuring equipment, such as torque drivers, crimping tools, micrometers, and verniers.
  • Impregnate the electrical windings of rotors and stators in electric motors, hybrid motors, generators, hydraulic motors, pumps, or coils in transformers.
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical tests as defined in process control documents, such as flash, resistance, and inductance.
  • Adhere to all company manufacturing procedures.
  • Complete all relevant documentation.
  • Provide information or assistance to customers, suppliers, and visitors from other companies within our group of companies.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement and 5S activities that affect the quality or output of the product.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as provided.
  • Carry out all activities in a timely manner to ensure company manufacturing targets are achieved.
  • Take on ad hoc duties, including training colleagues in line with local skills matrix, department-associated tasks, and brief secondments to other departments.

Requirements:

  • Able to read and understand drawings and/or CMMs and/or SOPs.
  • Able to work from SOPs in tandem with drawings.
  • Able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Knowledge of tools, such as circlip pliers, pliers, screwdrivers, tweezers, scrapers, and Swiss files.
  • Soldering skills on small components.
  • Previous experience in a production environment, assembly of wide-range electro/mechanical products.
  • Experience in assembling small components, such as model kits or other small component assembly.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Methodical/logical.
  • Good time management.
  • Able to communicate at all levels.
  • Team player.
  • Self-motivated.

  • Handles pressure well.

Standard Company Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for understanding the Business Management System and how it is applied to the role.

  • Carry out all duties in line with any Company policies and procedures in place at the time and in line with any requirements set out in the Business Management System.
