Banbury, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

Are you a former midwife looking to re-enter the profession? At Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we are dedicated to facilitating your return to midwifery practice and assisting you in re-establishing your NMC registration. We understand that this journey involves significant decisions, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

Key Responsibilities

Our Support Framework

We provide a structured pathway for your return to practice across our various hospital locations. As a Band 3 Maternity Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to refresh your clinical skills and regain your confidence in patient care, all while being supported by our experienced teams. You will receive assistance in applying for a Return to Practice course offered by several universities. During this program, you will work as a student midwife under the guidance of a Practice Assessor. Upon successful completion of the course and reinstatement of your NMC PIN, you will transition to a Band 5 preceptee midwife. This role will include a preceptorship period designed to help you advance your career in your desired direction.

About Our Organization

Available Resources

As a returning midwife, your university fees will be covered, and you will continue to receive a Band 3 salary while you train. While working as a Maternity Support Worker, you will have access to specialized training opportunities, both in-person and online. As a student midwife, you will participate in training tailored for students, supported by our maternity team. A comprehensive preceptorship program will be available upon your return to the register, with ongoing support from the Practice Development Team. You will maintain your salary throughout your training and will transition smoothly from Band 3 to Band 5. Our organization is committed to your professional development, with further opportunities available at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
