About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Practitioner to join our team as the Senior Practitioner for Children and Young People. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality care to children and young people experiencing mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist clinical leadership, supervision, support, and consultation to the multidisciplinary team in the Mental Health Liaison Service (MHLS) team, in line with relevant clinical pathways and operational procedures.
  • Develop and maintain robust holistic care pathways into wider children and young people's services, from the general hospital.
  • Lead on the development of the multidisciplinary team's knowledge and skills set around the assessment and response to the needs of children and young people.
  • Provide assessment and direct patient interventions for children and young people, focusing on relapse prevention, early discharge, and improved quality of life for patients referred to the service.

Requirements
  • Registered Social Worker, RMN, or Occupational Therapist with current registration with the relevant body (NMC, HCPC, SW England).
  • Recent experience of working within a child and adolescent mental health service that provided emergency or urgent response and assessment to children and young people.
  • Experience in leading on and managing complex children and young people's mental health presentations.
  • Prior clinical leadership and service development experience.
