Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate to join our dynamic team at Birketts. As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in managing and supervising files, providing strategic advice, and interacting with clients to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise files, delegating tasks to junior lawyers, trainees, and paralegals as needed.
  • Provide expert advice on SEN and SEND Tribunal cases, including advocacy where necessary.
  • Conduct High Court Litigation and Mediation, with advocacy where necessary.
  • Support the team on complex matters, providing strategic guidance and expertise.
  • Interact directly with clients, managing their expectations and delivering exceptional results.
  • Manage budgets and fees, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Contribute to business development, marketing, and networking efforts, focusing on the Bristol and South West regions, Sevenoaks and surrounding counties, and London.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of PQE experience in a strong regional or City firm or specialist/niche practice.
  • Excellent client service delivery skills, with a high attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Experience in SEND work, Tribunals, High Court Litigation, and other relevant legal areas.
  • A flexible approach to work, ensuring client deadlines are met and clients are communicated with regularly.
  • Experience in and aptitude for business development.
