An exciting new short-term service within our adult care department is set to launch soon. Derbyshire County Council is looking for Community Care Assistants to join our innovative reablement teams, serving our local communities.

The primary focus of our dedicated Community Care Assistants will be to support clients in their own homes, helping them to regain full or partial independence.

No prior experience in care work or specific qualifications are necessary, as we provide comprehensive training to ensure our care workers have the tools they need to thrive and advance in their social care careers.

Do you possess the ambition and motivation to work collaboratively with individuals, promoting their choice and control to foster independence in personal care, mobility, medication management, meal preparation, while adhering to their goal-oriented personal service plan? What will your responsibilities include?

Working in care can present challenges, but it is also incredibly rewarding. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing comprehensive support to enable individuals to live as independently as possible in their own homes.

You will work towards a therapeutic, goal-oriented care plan aimed at enhancing independence, with access to support through our new structure. Collaboration with colleagues is essential, and you will have regular access to your Senior Community Care Assistant for immediate queries and support, as well as your Community Care Lead for supervision, professional growth, and training opportunities.

A clear and achievable career pathway has been integrated into the new structure, offering opportunities for advancement to more senior roles.

All positions will offer one of three contracted hours: 18, 24, or 30 on a rota basis, with a 6-hour shift pattern. Therefore, if you have an 18-hour contract, you will work 3 days a week; a 24-hour contract means 4 days a week, and a 30-hour contract will require 5 days a week. There are also opportunities to work additional hours when available. The role may require working unsocial hours, including weekends and public holidays, and night shifts may be necessary with prior agreement. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.
