Role Overview:

The primary objective of this position is to implement optimal social media practices and strategies across the JD Group's digital platforms. This role requires a data-driven mindset paired with a creative approach to enhance all organic and community-driven content. A comprehensive understanding of major social media platforms, community engagement, organic growth, and content development is essential, along with the capability to adapt to evolving business and market dynamics. In a dynamic work environment, this position will oversee a team of social media executives and assistants to fulfill daily social media needs while also innovating social campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders within the organization, including Third Party Brands, Influencer and Activation Teams, Studio, and Paid Social, to ensure that social media content is distinctive, timely, relevant to the audience, and executed to the highest standards across different platforms.
  • Achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to growth, engagement, and quality of output as established by the Social Media Lead.
  • Oversee team development, establish KPIs, targets, and plans, ensuring these are met by motivating and engaging the team effectively.
  • Manage a team of Senior Executives, Executives, and Assistants to ensure an even distribution of workload, facilitate project progression, and deliver key initiatives punctually using project management tools.
  • Coordinate with key business stakeholders on significant initiatives, including but not limited to: purchasing, merchandising, content, and offline marketing teams.
  • Oversee the daily management and allocation of the JD Group's social media budget across various channels.
  • Ensure that the social media team adopts a data-driven approach to content and platform performance.
  • Ensure the team meets traffic-related KPIs such as revenue, sessions, and cost of sales, with a strong background in this area being crucial.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Lead on a channel-specific strategy, ensuring its implementation and development across multiple accounts, including reactive strategies.
  • Work closely with the Social Media Lead and external partners on channel innovations to keep the JD Group at the forefront of new functionalities.
  • Maximize incentives and the JD single customer view proposition by collaborating with the senior social executive in this domain.
  • Maintain an overview of all current JD Group brand and third-party brand campaigns, ensuring the team responds and takes necessary actions.
  • Collaborate with peers, including the Social Media Analyst and Community Manager, to ensure collaborative efforts and fluid communication across the team.
  • Partner with the Social Media Lead to ensure regular and standardized reporting is provided both within the team and across the department.
  • Represent the organization at events when necessary, ensuring relevant content is captured and uploaded across all pertinent social platforms.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a social media management role is essential.
  • A successful track record of leading social media strategies for large organizations.
  • Experience in managing substantial social media budgets, ensuring a positive return on investment.
  • Ability to grow and enhance social media accounts in terms of engagement and revenue through data analysis.
  • Exceptional functional competence and confidence in social media practices.
  • Experience in contract negotiations and onboarding new platforms at scale.
  • Capable of delivering comprehensive social media campaigns from concept through to evaluation.
  • Adaptability to changing environments and tactics.
  • Development of social media strategies to support multichannel initiatives.
  • Ability to influence organizational direction in a fast-paced environment.
