About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Community Children's Nurse to join our integrated Community Children's Nursing (iCCN) team at Sussex Community. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape our responsive service as it continually adapts to the ever-changing needs of the families we serve.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality and holistic, family-centered care to children and young people (CYP) with nursing needs, including those with acute and short-term conditions, long-term conditions, disabilities, complex conditions, and life-limiting and life-threatening illness.
  • Work collaboratively with children, young people, families, and the wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure care is provided as close to home as possible.
  • Develop and deliver care and clinical interventions to patients, including teaching families/carers to carry out specific complex nursing care and procedures.
  • Supervise and monitor junior staff/students with the support of the senior team.
  • Support the management of the integrated acute and community care pathways for children with short-term conditions.
Requirements
  • BSc Nursing or RN in Child or Learning Disability Nursing and currently registered with NMC.
  • Experience in assessing and developing patient care plans, developing and delivering care and clinical interventions to patients, and teaching, training, and supervision/assessing junior staff and students.
  • Clinically competent at Band 5 level, with teaching, supervision, and assessing skills, and understanding of the health needs of people in their care and health promotion.
  • UK Driving Licence and use of a car to carry out community visits.
