About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head of School to join our team at Blue Octopus Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our College Management Group, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our students and contributing to the success of our institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head of School in leading the School of Science, Technology, Engineering & Professional, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and training programs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes, focusing on securing high grades, enhancing teaching, learning, and assessment, and promoting employability skills.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum to ensure the effective implementation of College policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the teaching team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the College Management Group to drive forward the College's strategic objectives.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a senior academic leadership role, with a strong track record of improving student outcomes.
  • Excellent teaching and/or pastoral skills, with a history of good student outcomes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of apprenticeships and engineering, with relevant professional qualifications.
  • Ability to work effectively with subject/courses that require improvement, identifying interventions and executing them effectively.
  • Strong record of teamwork, leadership, and change management, with excellent knowledge of the Government policy context for the curriculum.
