Role Overview

In Tameside Children's Services, our focus on permanence planning is paramount. We are dedicated to ensuring that every child has a viable permanence plan that meets their emotional and legal requirements. We are currently seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Discharge of Care Team within the Cared for Children Service.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Social Worker specializing in conducting assessments to facilitate the discharge of care orders for children living at home with their parents, as well as special guardianship assessments for children placed with foster or connected carers. You will play a crucial role in supporting court applications through the provision of written evidence and court attendance.

We are looking for a proficient practitioner with strong assessment capabilities and some experience in court proceedings. Collaboration with colleagues to ensure optimal outcomes for our cared-for children is essential.
